Gatehouse Operations

The yard gate presents far more opportunity than it often receives credit for. As the primary point of entry and exit, a properly managed yard gate operation can add a significant amount of efficiency, and ultimately revenue, to your bottom line. NSSL is well-versed in what’s required to facilitate a streamlined yet secure gatehouse operation

Automatic Check-In Automatic check-in minimizes wait times for incoming traffic without compromising security. It also eliminates unnecessary staffing costs.

Dedicated Trailer Processing Dedicated trailer processing is another means by which NSSL makes gatehouse operations much more organized, secure, and economical.

Driver Confirmation A critical element in a safe, secure yard is driver confirmation. When performed properly, the flow of incoming and outgoing traffic is never interrupted and never compromised.

Hourly Patrols To further guarantee the safety of your supply chain and its personnel, hourly patrols are performed by NSSL staff.

Entrance & Exit Lanes Entrance and exit lanes must be properly monitored by trained staff at all times, and NSSL’s team is the best in the industry. Ongoing training combined with over 25 years of experience equals a smooth flow of traffic under the watchful eye of our gatehouse professionals.

Gatehouse Security Training Gatehouse staff cannot actually secure your yard unless they’ve been trained how to do so. Our security staff are trained by our in-house security experts to ensure they meet the strict standards of NSSL.

On-Demand Services w/Technology

NSSL has combined over 100 years of yard management experience and our industry-leading YMS solution, Shuntware, to create something revolutionary: on-demand shunting services. Through Shuntware, NSSL enables you to bring in additional help, whenever you need it, with little-to-no notice. Once Shuntware has been installed on-site (can be done in less than a day), you’ll be able to request additional drivers and trucks whenever the need arises.
